Around 2001, Ben Burton was introduced to the guitar. After being frustrated by his inability to play and watching his closest friends play he eventually decided to teach himself. Over the past 5-6 years he has ever been progressing and reinventing himself.
His past collaborations included writing songs with Nate Gould and Geoffrey Neubeck (2003-2004) (iS), guest singing on a few songs with the Fat Man Experiment (Tom Keenan) (2002-2003) (Emo Gamesss), along with various written solo songs. After senior year in high school plagued with misfortune Ben took a hiatus from recording music and turned to writing. Around 200 song lyrics/pieces of literature later and more guitar knowledge Ben has returned to the writing and recording scene as Touchstone Denial.
Using a grueling writing technique fueled by memories, emotions, and dreams he is able to create some intense sounding acoustic music. This music is somewhat nostalgic to that of the lost intensity of emo music that was circulating 5-6 years ago. Some of this music created with others and some by himself all hold an essence of Emo or Indie music. Within the next year under the solo name, Touchstone Denial, Ben will be releasing a CD with as much collaboration as possible. The upcoming CD will encompass some old songs rerecorded with better quality and added parts as well as a variety of different sounds ranging from Indie to Emo to Electronica and a possible hint of Hardcore influence. So keep your hats on and await this upcoming CD it’s promised to be an enjoyable ride.
In the meantime please help support Touchstone Denial by spreading the word. Tell your friends, tell random people, or just play the music wherever you go. People who hear this raw unedited music will be able to connect and enjoy it.
