About Me

Waylon H. Lewis. I started a magazine a few years back, elephant (themindfullife.com, now iamelephant.com) that started out of another little magazine that had more to do with Yoga than anything else. elephant is all about everything I care about—the environment, Buddhadharma (I grew up in Buddhist family in Boulder, Colorado), organics, sustainability in terms of architecture, voting w/your dollars (supporting independent businesses first) and the arts, including (eco)fashion. I plan on making lots of money, wooing lots of women until one woos me for good, then having a big family. I plan on getting involved, directly or indirectly (as w/Robert Redford) in politics. I plan on writing lots (editing a magazine ain't the same thing). Then, I plan to spend last ten years of my life slumped on a couch, watching baseball games and cursing at my grandchildren.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Lots of people I'd like to meet. Mostly old folks: Gary Snyder, Paul Hawken, Nelson Mandela, Robert Redford, Paul Newman, Michael Pollan, Malcolm Gladwell. I've met some of them already, through my little magazine. But in terms of this site, I don't expect much. I was invited here by a friend, and will be plenty happy if myspace helps me keep in touch with newer and old friends.
