Through art I interpret my life experiences. My influences often stem from the exotic, and also from pleasure, pain, and the relationship between them. My interest in the exotic grew from my love of traveling and experiencing different cultures. In my metals work, my designs are influenced by pleasure, pain, and the relationship between them. I feel that there is a very fine line between pleasure and pain. Often to feel the most intense pleasure we must risk being terribly hurt. My life has shown me that it is worth the risk. I also believe that it is the painful experiences that we learn the most from.My work evolves through the process of creating it. I use the lost wax casting process to create many of my jewelry pieces. While my designs often look sharp and dangerous, they are also designed to be comfortable for the wearer. I enjoy working with 14 karat gold, fine silver, sterling silver, and copper. I incorporate precious and semi precious stones in my designs, and also other elements to my pieces. I especially enjoy using opals because of their flash qualities and their unique beauty.
