Sophie Music Group IS BACK!
Sophie Music Group is a place for bands, musicians and artists to work together, rather than compete against each other. Our purpose is to help talented musicians succeed in our local music scene. We want to help promote and support independent artists who we believe have incredible potential and our goal is to help them get their name out there.
We started up in early 2006 as a promotional group helping bands promote themselves and their shows. Things went really well until mid-2007, after many of the bands on our roster had broken up, we decided to go on an indefinite hiatus. Now, starting fresh again in 2009 we're back!

Queen Sophie Charlotte: wife of King George III of England, was an avid music fan for whom the city of Charlotte was named after. She was a charitable queen and founded many orphanages for "decayed" musicians. Amadeus Mozart dedicated his Opus 3 to her and when her court musician and music teacher Johann Christian Bach passed away, she paid for his funeral and established a pension for his widow. Because she was so cool, that's why we named this after her.
