"Post-country" is a cheeky, somewhat arrogant term for any Yankee band to apply to themselves. Especially since way too many bands assume that by appropriating the tropes of country music that they'll have built-in credibility or authenticity, because most indie rock fans know dick about country music. This is why a lot of alt-country bands are lame. GunFight! overcomes this by not taking themselves too seriously and not giving a damn what you think. Their live shows are full of unrelenting energy, vocalist Drew Mintz sounds like a higher-pitched Captain Beefheart, and guitarist Bill Dvorak actually takes decent guitar solos (gasp!), so there's really no reason not to grab a stool, drink your PBR and bang your head right along."

"The night started out with an uplifting and exciting performance of Post-Country band, Gunfight! Whose country roots twang and post-punk guitar and bass riffs create a really fun-loving energy on stage. They twist around their sound, pumping out clashing drums and organic bass lines, with controlled scalding vocals and guitar solos that dance around the rhythm guitar creating circles of a dance-y/ country style flow. Gunfight! seemed to be having a great time playing with each other, dancing and turning to face one another as they hit the climaxes of each song."

"Damn good. 5 rocking ass songs. It’s been on repeat in my car for the past week. [...] There’s punk and country and the idea of what Franz Ferdinand and The Strokes might’ve sounded like if they had balls and attitude in the beginning. Good raw shit, stuff from that band you heard playing live at the bar and you wished you remember’d their name. Check it."
