Drinking good beer with great friends. Crisp fall afternoons at a football game. Reading my favorite books and watching my favorite movies over and over again. Music - live, fast, on cd, slow... A quiet night at home on my couch, or a night out with a few of my favorites. Working my ass off at the hospital, but still managing to have fun with the staff on the floor. Taking in the city around me. Working on my house. Taking pictures of anything and everything.

My parents, 30 years ago. My kids, 20 years from now. And I wouldn't like to meet famous people, so much as I'd like to go back and witness historical moments: the Beatles concert at Shea Stadium, Janice Joplin's last show, Martin Luther King, Jr's "I Have a Dream" speech, the introduction of sliced bread...you know, the really important stuff!
I have an obsession with music. It's sort of a driving force in my life. For every truly great moment (or truly awful one, for that matter), I could name the perfect song to fit it. I listen to music like that - to find my perfect soundtrack. So I listen to it all, just about. I have a deep appreciation for talent. The bands I have in my top are on current high rotation in my ipod. The other bands on my friends list are just a small sampling of everything else I love.
I use movies to escape from reality. I watch them to laugh through the pain, to realize how good I have it, to strive for something better, and to fall into silly romantic fantasies. Sometimes, truthfully, I worry a little bit about how much I watch movies. But I know it's ok. I love every kind of movie, but my favorites are the based-on-reality dramas and romantic comedies.
24, LOST, The Office, Three Sheets, any celebrity profile show or entertainment rag (it's a sickness, I'm convinced), wedding shows (also a sickness), The Food Network. And reruns of any and all of the following shows: The O.C., 90210, Gilmore Girls, The Sopranos...oh, and I could LIVE on Friends alone, if need be.
The Lovely Bones, The Invisible Circus, Nickle and Dimed, Charlotte's Web, Man's Search for Meaning, A Love Story, Wonderland, The Greatest Generation, anything by Nicholas Sparks, all Harry Potter, Dan Brown's books, America: The Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction, Allen Ginsburg poetry, Shel Silverstien poetry, Catcher in the Rye, Shakespeare, Riding the Bus with My Sister, travel books...
Mom, my Aunt Em, my cousin Katie, Cheryl Paulhus, and Mike and Lori Engle. Wonder Woman, He-Man, Eric Draven, and Jack Bauer. All the kids I knew from Vent Camp...
