I have been a Drummer for 30 years, in the mid to late 1980’s and 1990’s performing in local Detroit bands such as “MEDIEVAL METAL" 1984 thru 1987, "ONE-WAY" 1987 thru 1989, “Y.B.SHY†1989 thru 1990, "KONG" 1990 thru 1991 and the most successful band I co-founded “CHILDREN OF THE REVOLUTION†1991 thru 1994.
In 1993 the Detroit Live Music Awards named me Drummer of the year.
In 1995 I was co-formed a recording project called “DISH†which included members Richie Scarlet (Lead guitar player and vocalist of the Ace Frehley Band-KISS), Chris Jarvis (Y.B SHY Lead Guitar player) & our recording engineer and co-producer Tom Rice. In the “DISH†project I co-wrote, drummed & took a shot at singing lead vocals. Those were some great times; I gained 3 life long brothers from those recording sessions.
In 1996 I retired from the music world. Even though I never made it to the “BIG†time I always have considered my self very lucky to have achieved what I did in the years I was a performer. I was able to have performed live as the support act and have stayed even to this day, good friends with many of the legendary musicians that I had idolized since I was a kid. Some of the bands I have opened for are Ace Frehley (Kiss), W.A.S.P., The Sweet, Quiot Riot, Leaf Garret, Humble Pie, Saints and Sinners to list a few.
In 1999 My ex-singer Don Neal Smith from Children of the Revolution contacted me to join his band KRANK. After 9 months of gigging and recording we released out self titled CD “KRANK NINEâ€. I am very proud of that CD and proud to have worked with such stellar musicians & friends.
In 2000 I re-retired from the music industry for good……….I PASSED THE STICKS OVER TO MY SON……….I am happily married to my beautiful wife of 17 years Shelly and am the proud father of two great kids, Jason Hartless & Cassidy Star Hartless..Music to this day is still this family’s passion.
