Phalanx were originally formed in March 2005 under a different name and set of influences. Although being a relatively young metal act, Phalanx displays a high level of musicianship. This is evident in the bands well constructed original material as well as the covers chosen to perform. Intelligent riffs, high level musicianship, and thought-provoking lyrics are of the highest priority in Phalanx's music.
Phalanx's style is not confined to one genre of metal and, therefore, not easily defined. This is because the music is essentially a mixture of death, progressive and black metal with many other metal and non metal musical influences. With such a diverse mixture of Metal, Phalanx is definitely not a monotonous listen.
2009 has been a strong year for the band, playing many gigs and releasing a new disc entitled 'The Perpetual Myth'. With the line up now firmly consolidated, 2010 promises to be an even bigger year also with the aim of releasing a new album. Phalanx will continue to keep at it.
Prepare yourself for the brutal dual guitar attack of Dmitri and Evan, Edwin’s impressive drum work locked in with the bass of Chris, aggressive vocals, and the keyboard mastery of Nick Hunter.
Metal fans take heart.
