LAYOUT BY: The East CoastToday is thanksgiving what a perfect day to update my about me because I have so many things to be thankful for. My name is Jennifer and Im a single mom of 2 beautiful kids. This past year sure has been a crazy life changing year for me. I lost a love whom I thought was the love of my life but looking back I realize it was just a stepping stone and a lesson learned. God blesses us that way sometimes so that when we do find true love we can recognize it. I dont regret the relationship because I got a beautiful little girl from it and I learned more about myself than ever. I learned how strong I can be. I now know and am proud of how much love I have to offer someone. I put my life on pause for several years but Im back to it now and more excited than ever. I have so many plans in my life and I cant wait to pursue them. My beautiful 11 month old niece had her liver transplant this month. I am so grateful for her. We thought we were gonna lose her right after we got her because she was dying of liver failure. She is still in ICU at dallas childrens medical but doing better. SHE above all things has taught me more, gosh so much more than anything else this year. This baby has known nothing but pain her whole life but yet smiles anyway. Its a beautiful smile that stretches from ear to ear it makes your heart leap with love for her. My family has become close to other families at the hospital and some of those families babies have lost the fight and have passed away and are only a few months to a couple of yrs old and I hurt for each one of them. Makes my problems I bitch about seem so petty and stupid. Ive learned this life is sooooo precious and to be thankful for everything I have. Love people and they will love you back. Be kind to people and they will be kind to you and even if they arn't be nice to them anyways. Those are the people that need it the most. I also lost a beautiful friend recently. He died at 24 yrs old from a rare cancer. He spent his whole life loving people and caring for everybody. He was a man of christ and was someone you looked up to. Even when he was so sick he was out doing Gods work. He's an inspiration and someone I am striving hard to live like. I love kids and Through my internships recently I have worked and seen kids of all ages who have suffered from neglect to sexual abuse or kids who are falling behind educationally because they are to poor to get an education, and let me tell you what. These little humans are tough. They make us adults look pathetic. These little guys no matter what they're facing ran and gave me a hug every morning and gave me kisses when I left. People their whole life have mistreated them and have left them and have hurt them but they continue to trust and love anyway. Thats how we all should live. Love and trust no matter what and if that person should let you down, let them. Its not on you, it's on them. Allow yourself to hurt if they hurt you but know you will recover. God made our hearts in the likeness of him and we were made to love and forgive. So I forgive the person who spent so many days hurting me because I have risen above that and I hope he has forgiven me for the times I hurt him. I want to thank him for that however because I now and forever more are a better person from it
