I want to be with those who know secret things or else alone. Rainer Marie Rilke

About Me

"You don't have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body." C.S. LewisIf the definition of insanity is 'doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results', then I know a lot of really insane people. -Holly Lauren Bednar fantasy layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com MyHotComments

My Interests

Kayaking is fabulous as long as the water is warm and not more than four feet deep. Sailing is the absolute bomb in any kind of oceanic dispostion. I ski like a demon. I love to read novels that teach me something and entertain me at the same time. I love anything to do with the theatre. I like acting alot and always want to do more of it. Singing. Philosophical conversation. String theory. Cooking is a passion and eating should be an orgasmic experience. Talking with my kids (Tawny and Alex) is always something I find incredibly edifying. Watching old movies, Puccini operas, riding horses, snuggling, thunderstorms, star gazing, beaches, long languid walks, meditation, and karaoke after two or three margaritas are all really cool, inciting riots, unbridled passion, taking no prisoners. What I still haven't done but must do before I succumb is: parasailing, travel to Ireland again, Italy, France, Germany, Iceland, the Amazon rain forrest, Australia..... You get the idea; go on an archeological dig with a group of campy anthropologists, make a really good documentary, catch a big fish and have my picture taken with it.

I'd like to meet:

Hilary Clinton, Bono, Rob Thomas, Eddie Izzard, Spiderman, Robin Roberts, Bill Maher, The Dalai Lama,Deepak Chopra, Derrick N. Ashong (DNA) Paula Dean and Rachael Ray from the Food NetworkIf I could go back into history, I'd like to meet Aristotle, King Arthur, Cleopatra, Sidartha, Mahatma Gandhi, Clara Barton, Golda Meier, Margaret Sanger, Darwin, Eve (of Adam and), Peter Sellers, Eleanor Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, and Walt Disney.Would like to reconnect with my younger sister. She is always in my heart.

Music:

I'd like to make my own music as soon as I learn how to play an instrument. And get some talent. I'm trying to teach myself how to play my guitar, but I discovered that if you don't know how to do something you can't really teach someone how to do it even if that someone is yourself. My resolution for 2007 will be to take actual lessons. Can't wait to jam. Anyway, I like listening to other people's music- all kinds of music, accept for twangy country and hard core rap. I adore Mozart and Brahms. There are some really great Indie groups out there that I'm diggin. And then there's George....

Movies:

Bogart, Brando, and Bergman. Independent films. Life is Beautiful. Wings of Desire. Casablanca, On the Waterfront, Pinocchio, Pulp Fiction, A Fish called Wanda, The Princess Bride, Excalibur, Hotel Rwanda. And most recently Starship Farragut, The Captaincy. It has the makings of major block buster! Availble for download to your PC now at www.starshipfarragut.com.

Television:

Food Network Junkie babe; Sci-Fi Channel, History Channel, Animal Planet, GMA, The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart, and The Colbert Report. I'm always at my most satisfied when I'm too wrapped up in other interesting projects to watch t.v.

Books:

"Where is human nature so weak as in the bookstore?" ~ Henry Ward Beecher ~ Books have been my companions, my counselors, my conscience. I love the line from Good Will Hunting where Will says to the pompous ass from Harvard,"...you dropped a hundred and fifty grand on a fuckin education you coulda got for a dollah fifty in late chahges at the public library." Books are power. Books express the human soul like nothing else can.

Heroes:

My Daddy. And others like him, who perform an endless series of subtle, simple, thoughtful acts of love along their life's journey.

Contemplations

All that we think we know about ourselves is transitory. The separation of self from other is the illusion we mistake for reality, which for most lasts at least one lifetime. It is time for...
