slovenian national cinema

The Slovenian National Cinema is in equal parts:
1) A project based on a rough plot outline for a film entitled Sveti Miklavs (a film which may never be completed).
2) Another foray into the experimental spirit of the late Jerzy Grotowski (In this instance, a lengthy consideration of the relationship and process of revelation between patron and performer).
3) An homage and exploration of the notion of secret music as developed by David Regan (the heart and soul of suburbia).
The findings of the project are as follows (though certainly not limited to the following):
1) Like all other arts, rocknroll needs patronage in order to exist
2) Patronage has at least five different meanings, all of which may apply at different points of the creative process as part of, or, to withhold revelation.
3) rocknroll is forever fractured into the very different demands that live and recorded performances require of both the (model) listener/viewer and the (model) performer.
4) The present longstanding (and universally preferred) system of patronage prevalent throughout the medium offers only one potential avenue of production.
5) An art thrives when variety exists in both its content and its form, even if the rules of these inherently limit freedom of expression.
6) The interrelation of rocknroll and memory is a dynamic process, changing the way we interpret history and our daily lives. Yet sometimes, the process fizzles and dies, leaving us vulnerable and irascible.
