About Me

tELLEY are a four piece that live in London, formed via email between Australia, Cologne and London, it was about 8 months before the first rehearsal. JiM, Guitar and Vocals who lives in South London and also plays guitar for indie stalwarts “spearmint”, emailed some musically compatible friends. Silvi, Bass and Vocals also living in London from German Heavy-twee-Metal-pop duo “Mikrofisch” was one of those friends. She plays a much envied Silver Danelectro bass and has a fierce punk spirit. The second friend was James A, now living in North London previously with Leeds-based, “Scaramanga Six” James has a unique drumming style and a magnetic personality. When JiM met forth member Rene waiting for a Taxi after a rehearsal. They instantly clicked and Rene was asked to join. It was only three weeks before the first gig that they learnt about his crippling stage fright.Aw Mum they made me read! is the debut e.p. from tELLEY It is an exciting slice of spiky guitar pop with cut and paste keyboard noises, shouty refrains and drums that sound like they’ve been hurled out of a 40 story block of flats. The mix of angular digital keyboards against the driving guitar, bass and drums is playful and intriguing. One minute it’s shouting choruses the next it’s sweet harmonies. This is neat super-indie guitar pop.a
