I started playing music at an early age, flutophone when I was 7, then I wanted to play the trumpet, but my Dad said he already had a trombone and that I should try that first. Man, I hated that thing! LOL! So I got my trumpet after telling him what he could do with the trombone. Yeah I had a lot of gall for a 9 year old. But I give the old man his due, he was a choir director and organist for 14 years, and contributed to my musical ear without my knowledge until I was older. Anyways I played that trumpet in the orchestra for the next 9 years, then after high school took up the guitar and haven't looked back. I spent many years playing around with fingerstyle, then gradually made my way over to the flatpicking world. I guess what I came around to find is that songs don't have to be any certain thing to be a great song, sometimes it just can't be explained. Now 31 years later after starting the journey, I hope it never ends. I worked and raised kids over the years, and altho it took me a while, I'm finding new inspiration to get out there and share my songs.
