Immersed in good music from a young age, Willie Weeks was bound for creating and playing music. Now aged 22, and with 10 years spent developing skills and building relationships he is moving rapidly forwards in his career.
Will grew up playing the drums alongside many world-class musicians and so has a keen sense of groove and feel, learning from his experiences. At the age of 13, he was attracted to the art of songwriting, penning his first collection of solo work (playing double bass, acoustics, glock, drums and electrics) ,and thus initialising a desire to drive this creative skill to it's full potential. The bass, keys, guitars and a variety of other instruments were learnt as an important process of being able to express the songs written in the desirable way. Since then Will has been working towards the release of his first solo album. Watch this space.....
Willie works mainly as a music producer, as part of the brotherhood production company WeeksWeeksWeeks, currently writing and recording songs for many different artists that are either signed, in development deals or 'up-and-coming'. Three tracks of Will's work were featured on a Daily Mail CD selling 1.2 million copies nationwide which was an encouraging start. Since the start of 2009 Will joined the Zebra1 team as a producer/writer and has been building his catalogue of mainstream pop for a number of briefs. Who knows, we might see a cut soon!
In more recent projects, Will played drums on the recently released ACM Gospel Choir Album, has been writing and gathering material for a couple of international Pop Idol winners, major label artists, playing festivals around Europe with his band Shackleton, and working as a session drummer and bass player. He is also a part of the highly entertaining and funky outfit OurDad. Other exciting acts he's working with include: Kris Morris, Rokhsan Heydari, Paul Humphries, Senab, plus many more....
