Now think about this: The internet is a paradox: it's a "social" technology that reduces social interaction and physical involvement between individuals. It has been debated whtether the internet helps or damages the way our social relationships develop. As far as providing information and becoming a sounding board of expression...it's a blessing. As far as cultivating social interaction- the internet, video games, computers, and cell phones...these "necessary evils" will be the downward spiral of our society. These are some examples of how technology can enable us to network with others yet in effect isolate us as individuals...Email me and I will go into it further....As far as meeting people.... I am on Myspace because I love hearing different people's opinions...you can learn something valuable from any person that exists. But when people think that they "know" you or feel that some kind of "connection" has been made because they have read your profile...I'm sorry but that's just really sad. My word of advice to you is this- the next time you're out at the bar, whether you're surrounded by dumb, hot bitches, "the ugly fat" chicks, boca bitches, intellectuals, punkrockers, metalheads, meatheads, "artists", homies, white trash, jocks- any and every stereotype-whatever, who gives a fuck- talk to them, all of them...everyone. You can make a connection with some of the most unexpected people if you just let yourself. Do it. So those of you that want to "meet up for coffee" or "go out sometime" because I'm a "pretty girl" or because "you think I'm smart or interesting"...The only way you're REALLY going to meet and know someone is to speak to them in person and spend time with them. It's common sense.
