About Me
As Holden Caulfield once stated, "If you really want to hear about"!
It all started with my sisters LP collection. She was 9 years older than me, hip, into the Beatles, Stones, Grateful Dead, The Who, Bowie, Ramones, etc.. All at the mercy of my young ears.
The world of music was at my disposal and I sank in listening and listening, each afternoon after school, absorbing all the individual chords, notes, lyrical content, etc... I had found my passion.
My sister was so cool that when she got married and was into cassette tapes (hey it was the 80's), at the age of 14, I inherited her whole LP collection! Yes! It was Holiday 24/7. I then merged it with my steadily growing collection and had, as a friend would dub "a fortress of recordsâ€, which included LP's and 45rpms.
My circle of friends were all vinyl heads and I progressed to DJing. Which let to another major event. Girls! My friends and me had found our way to hang out with the girls.
We began with afternoon to evening parties at a friend’s garage. Spinning records for endless hours...
Now for the corporate stuff :)
High School was the turning point and a small independent record store, a few blocks from school, called "Flamin' Grooves". The store was owned by my friend who was in a small local pub band, "The Smithereens", yep! The famous Smithereens!
After a few years on the road I took a break and toured with the Grateful Dead for a year. Upon my return I landed in Los Angeles and started a Music Management Company, later to include Theatrical.
Over the years I had the privilege to oversee the careers and work with great artists including Tia Carrere, Leigh Gorman Bow Wow Wow, DJ Rap and many others. Oversaw a Disney Summer Tour, design promotional campaigns and music supervisor for a few films.
At present I'm producing and songwriting for new and established artists, writing, blogging and working on a new business venture.
More news on current projects coming soon.
