’Bradford band, New York Alcoholic Anxiety Attack, build the excitement still further with an up tempo aggressive set. They wear their hard rock allegiances openly - the singer guitarist stripped to the waist, the bassist in dreads and hoody, the drummer’s hair tightly cropped - yet their music displays much wider influences. It is underpinned by a powerful driving, at times martial, drum beat and bass lines that vary from the slow and melodic to the fast and percussive. This is overlaid by guitar riffs that move from the thrashy and distorted to a sparser sound, providing space for the gentle yet forceful vocals, and back again. By the time they leave the stage, they have won over many new converts.'

"NYAAA are a rock chick’s idea of heaven."
'A small but inquisitive crowd gathered in the Dublin Castle to see what punk rockers New York Alcoholic Anxiety Attack could muster. What they got was a bombardment of testosterone-charged riffs and outstanding lead vocals from singer Mik Davis. The band’s sound lies somewhere between The Doors, Rage Against The Machine and the Chilli Peppers, but there are some secret ingredients - namely beauty and youth.
Poetic-lyricist and Adonis-faced Davis was sexually charged in a genuinely intense performance with his shirt off and tattoos on show. NYAAA are a rock chick’s idea of heaven.
"Change These Times" the set’s opener, was bold and uncompromising, an immediate statement that they were here to stay whether the crowd liked it or not. "We Are The Chosen" was another that allowed the band to revel in their energy and confidence, as was "City Of God". Extremely hard working, unsigned but unwilling to compromise, NYAAA are emerging as one of the most talented (and virile) groups around trying to define a new generation of British hard-rock music.' LONDON TOURDATES MAGAZINE
'Professor Pop would be fascinated by New York Alcoholic Anxiety Attack. Barely into their 20's, the Bradford trio play with a passion that makes many of their peers sound like karaoke night at the zombie club. Their music engages with the post-punk template of rolling drums, rumbling bass and declamatory vocals in a way suggesting that the era means more to them than a set of skinny jean fashion options. The hottest tickets in Town.' METRO

READ THIS - IT'S NOT HYPE, IT'S TRUE: Welcome to the myspace, er, space of New York Alcoholic Anxiety Attack (NYAAA, for short) - one of the most charismatic and brilliant young rock bands to come out of the barbarian Northlands in the last ten years. Or possibly more, even. NYAAA are 100% dedicated to playing original rock music and giving truly memorable performances; their stage presence and charisma are second to none, big or small, famous or infamous, signed or unsigned - the beautiful, loving, crazy, intense, chaotic vibe surrounding the band is already legendary. Check out a gig & see for yourself because you won't believe it until you do and anyway, it's better than sitting on your arse watching the goggle-box all night until your brain dies. We hope you enjoy browsing the info, art etc., on this page & don't forget, the often quite randomly peculiar NYAAA merchandise - including the very collectible Album Card Packs - is available at gigs from our glorious, psychadelik, fairy-lit, merchandise micro-mini-boutique. So, that's us, people - if there's anything you want to tell us, just get in touch, we honestly enjoy hearing from you.
