Music, activism, Frolf, kayaking, good times, movies, camping, books, population control, live shows, the destruction of all human cities and knitting. Things I love: Cam, Sully, my family, my friends, hawaiian shirts, fortune cookies, good good chiba, Miller High Life, keef, Cadburry mini eggs, coffee milk (as long as it's made with Coffee Time coffee syrup), Kool Mild cigarettes, the outdoors, thinking for myself and encouraging others to do the same.
Everyone and anyone with an original thought inside of their head (except for cat owners and Nazi's, both of whom usually don't fall in to this category anyways).
*I still hate both pop music and most humans. And cats. And cat owners. And friends of cat owners. A few bands I like: Born Against, the (Young) Pioneers, early Bad Brains, early MC5, Tom Waits, the Oppressed, Violent Femmes, the 5.6.7.8.'s, 7L and Esoteric, the Aggrolites, the Agents, Apathy, Celph Titled, Jedi Mind Tricks, early Rancid, early Beck, Frank Morey, Big L, Black Flag, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Overkill, Bob Marley, Toots and the Maytals, Desmond Dekker, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, early David Bowie, some Captain Beefheart, some Howlin' Wolf, the Slackers, some Clash, some Crass, some Conflict, Dead Kennedys, Augustus Pablo, Lee "Scratch" Perry, King Tubby, Cab Calloway, some Dizzy Gillespie, some Louis Armstrong, some Iggy Pop, DJ Shadow, Cut Chemist, some Duke Ellington, some of whatever Mike Patton is doing at any given time, some James Brown, Jurassic 5, Demigodz, AOTP, whatever Jello Biafra is working on at any given time, some Joe Cocker, some Johnny Cash, some Koko Taylor, Bikini Kill's very early stuff, Louis Logic, early Marilyn Manson, Memphis Slim, some Misfits, the Pogues, Majik Most, Propagandhi, some Radiohead, some Ray Charles, the Specials, some TMBG, some Ween, some Tribe Called Quest, anything Trojan Records, the White Stripes, some Ramsey Lewis (especially when he's with his jazz trio), some Dresden Dolls, some Notorious B.I.G., Nirvana's first album, every song ever recorded by Robert Johnson, the Pist, and about 100 or so more bands that either 1) no one else has heard of or 2) no one else wants to listen to.
I like tons of movies, so I'll mostly just go by genre/actor/director/writer rather than individual title. B-Horror (The Mask, Zombie, Dead Alive, Pieces, I Drink Your Blood, even some newer shit like Planet Terror, May and Cabin Fever, etc.). Spaghetti Westerns. Kubrick films. Some sci fi. Off beat comedy. Early George Lucas. Early Tarantino. B Horror some more (BTW, while we're on the subject, Cannibal Holocaust is awful, so stop hailing it as some sort of torture porn classic. It's rubbish.). Sean Connery. Al Pacino. Jack Nicolson(sp?). Drug movies. Mindless action movies. Gross out humor. Bill Murray. Robert Deniro. Simon Pegg. Adam Sandler. George A. Romero (who has, in my opinion, yet to make a bad movie in his close to 40 years of writing and directing). Tom Savini, the horror makeup genius. John Carpenter (except for "The Fog", which has to be one of the worst horror movies ever made by anyone). Good classic Kung Fu. Bad Classic Kung fu. Challenging and engaging films that prompt me to use my brain. The Coen Bros. Alright, I'm tired of typing. Here's my quick top 5 of the moment at a glance: 1. Pan's Labrynth 2. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas 3. Dead Alive 4. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 5. Planet Terror (The first great movie Robert Rodriguez has ever made. Yes it is good enough to be top 5 material, and yes Sin City was mediocre, over-hyped and poorly directed).
Deadwood, The Shield, History Channel, Discovery Channel, Deadwood, the Kids in the Hall, a few cartoons, some news, New England sports whenever a game is on, Deadwood and the Shield. ____________________ Violent Femmes: "Country Death Song" (animated)Cab Calloway: "Reefer Man"Fantomas: "Rosemary's Baby" (Stock Footage Video)
Mostly historical non-fiction. The only fiction I read is by Clive Barker, Hunter S. Thompson (well, it's not exactly fiction, but it not exactly true, either.), song lyrics and anything by most of the beat poets. Most fiction novels bore me to death. Besides, I hate phony garbage, and that includes books. I read to gain knowledge, not to line the pockets of "supposedly" imaginative fiction writers.
