Hummmmmmmmm...........Where do I start........Oh I know!!!! How about the beginning!!! Because of music I can remember what was happening at the age of 13. How many people can say that? But lets back up a bit. Around the age of 5 years old the marriage between my father and mother began to fall apart. The family was split into two parts, my brothers went with my mother and I moved in with my grandparents in Fort Collins Colorado. I remember my Grandfather played the violin or fiddle as he called it. On weekends he would jam with friends and family playing old standards and folk songs. This really had an effect on me because I had never been up close to a live performance. The sounds were wonderful!!! This experience planted the seed that would begin to grow later in life. My Aunt tried to teach me piano but it didn't click with me. Looking back I wish that it did. I needed something more physical. Around the age of 13 I attended a Friday night dance at my school. There was a live band playing at the back of the room. They set up their gear on the floor because there was no stage at the time. I will never forget the matching polka dot shirts. LOL The guitarist and bass player just stood there motionless while the singer jumped around with a pair of shakers. The drummer caught my eye and my undivided attention. Like an animal he pounded the blue oyster pearl Ludwig drums into submission song after song after song. I was hooked!!!.. ..
