The group aims at entertaining their community with their ability to make music and throw really big parties. Although the area where they are located is not really a positive area, surrounded by drugs and gang violence, the group manages to use their negative surroundings and flip them into a positive vibe. They also help to keep many of their peer's off the streets by giving them an opportunity to make their own music.
Wreckhouse was established in 2005 although many of the groups members have been working together prior to the name. It was started by a young man named Denzil (Young Flame) Porter. Porter made a name for himself by reciting his lyrics in schools, and anywhere else possible. And he loved to party. On his 16th birthday (2004), Porter threw a house party, which he did not expect to be so successful, and raised enough money to start his home studio. With this home studio, he would record himself, along with local artist, and this is what sparked the beginning of the Wreckhouse music group. It wasn't until 2005, that Wreckhouse was in full motion, with artist like Sean B, Biff Lawson, Nu Era, C-fresh, and Young Flame (B.A.G) and a team of producers like Claws, Gigga Sean, Mandeezy, and Young Flame (B.D.B.C). Porter and his partner Jawann (Jay Wiz) Sample fully started the massive promotion of wreckhouse; making shirts, pins, and throwing parties with the help of Slimz n Thingz promotion and Asylum Sounds.
Although Wreckhouse consist of a majority of Hip Hop artist, it is actually not just a hip hop based music group. Out of the wreckhouse camp, you are likely to hear hip-hop, pop, R&B, rock, and especially dancehall. In May of 2005, Wreckhouse put out there first Mix Tape titled, "Welcome To Wreckhouse", A 30 track mix of Songs they put out to the public, and brand new songs that were never heard. Prior to the mix tape release, Wreckhouse put out flyers, gave out pins and shirts and threw one of the biggest parties of that year .Which gave the mix tape a real big advantage (promotion wise). When the mix tape was released, it was sold out by the first week. The enjoyment of the listeners was spreading so rapidly, that by week 2, the second batch of CDs were also sold out. This gave Wreckhouse the buzz they needed to be a well known name in their community, and now their focus is to make their music go world wide with the help of their partners in other states. With the help of their peers, Wreckhouse music has been distributed in Atlanta, Alabama, Florida, Philly, and many other states. And they are soon to be heard worldwide...
