MyGen Profile GeneratorThe Accent is a Punk/Pop trio from Bridgend in South Wales. With a large range of own material, The Accent also slide some covers of Blink 182 and Green Day into their set. For most of 2006, The Accent spent gigging in some amazing Venues such as The Rec Bridgend, The Pavillion Porthcawl and The Workmans Hall Blaengarw. During the month of May, The Accent recorded their first EVER 4 track CD, in Incompany Studio's Newport. The Accent managed to get into into South Wales' very own "The Gathering, Battle Of The Bands" semifinals in June and played to over 300 people in The Grand Pavillion, Porthcawl.
Soon after, The Accent signed a development deal with award winning company - ProMo Cymru and are currently still with them doing all kinds of "stuff" ;) - During the summer of 06, The Accent did they're first gig out of Wales - in Exeter , South England recieving a brilliant response from the English! From doing their first gig infront of 60 people in a run down hall December 2005, and Playing infrount of 300 people by May and playing in England in September 06, it is safe to say they have achieved a lot in a small space of time. The Accent then after a long break from the scene entered the black river arts Battle of the Bands and got through to the final and placed second overall and won themselves free recording time at Crossbar Studio. Then came the Gathering 08, but with James out of school he couldnt play so they found Dan Ryan, who leart thier songs in one week and they went on to place runners up. With two of the boys doing thier A levels and 1 off to the RAF gigs will be few and far between for a while, but keep checking the myspace as there will be as many as they can fit i, so look out for them!!
