I am a Widowed (they didn't have that choice) Christian woman, down to earth and past the partying stage. I am a very analytical person, love challenges and exploring new horizons. I have a great sense of humor, and love to make people laugh. I know the value of friendship, and don’t take life for granted. I am appreciative of the morning sun, a butterfly, a cool breeze, and rainbows. Oh, and I do smoke, and drive a green bug!
I was born and raised in Texas, I have a tad bit of Cherokee Native American Indian in me, but am totally mesmerized by the Native American culture. I listen to mostly Native American music, my favorite band being "Navajo".

I have a tender heart. Yes, I know that others need to learn to take care of themselves. Yes, I know they need to accept the consequences of their foolish or bad behavior.
But most of the time I
am there to help when they need me. If they are in trouble, I offer compassion
and go out of my way to be helpful. If they need someone who will listen, I am
trustworthy and sympathetic. And I am direct with them; when they need advice or
counsel, I offer it in a straightforward, direct manner, without beating around
the bush.
I am also smart enough to know that I cannot take good care of others if I fail
to take good care of myself, so I listen to my own wants and needs. If I’ve run
out of sympathetic energy, I spend time restoring myself. I do know how to take
care of myself, but my genuine interest is in taking care of others.
I
think like an artist. Or better, I SEE like an artist. While most people look at
life's straight lines, its height and depth and width, I am bending the lines
with my imagination and turning black and white into shades of blue and yellow.
I’ve piqued everyone's curiosity with my own original and inventive ways of
thinking.
I can, if I must, think in conventional ways. But left on my own, I'll usually
opt for the eccentric or avant-garde; in fact I’m usually bored with what
everyone else is comfortable with. I learn from reading, talking, watching
people and other fauna and flora, and simply sitting in the soft chair of my
mind and wondering how people would learn how to count if they could only use
uneven numbers. I am out in front of conventional ideas, bravely originally
defining true and false, right and wrong, the good, the bad and the ugly.
I think well, and even my wildest fancies have their roots in the deep soil of sound ideas and tested beliefs. So even if some people don't want to drive at high speed with me, they will respect me for my courage as an innovative and unconventional thinker. I lend color and imagination to what would otherwise be the straight black and white lines of their work world and social environments.
When I
take on a task at work or at home, I am reliable; I get the job done. In an
organized way, I define the goal, lay out a plan, figure how long the task will
take, and get to work "solid and dependable I".
But and this is important I am not a slave to the plan. I am committed to it,
but not chained to it; the connection is more casual and informal. I know that
sometimes "the best laid plans" fall off the tracks; when this happens, I clean
up the train wreck and start over, undeterred.
Though not happening often, when plans change, I am okay with it. In fact,
sometimes I change the plan. It's too nice of a Saturday to finish organizing
the garage. Let's go for a bike ride instead. True, the next rainy Saturday will
likely find me back in the garage, but for now the work can wait.
What an interesting combination of qualities in I am organized, but casual;
solid, but compliant; and dependable, but informal. At home and at work, people
know they can rely on me. I take great satisfaction in knowing that people think
of me as disciplined and responsible, but I also know that I have something of a
free spirit, and when this spirit moves me, off I go, following the impulse of
the moment. I am rightly proud of my work ethic, but I also enjoy my willingness
to lay the tools down, crank up the music and play like a child.
What a
great life I have, and a great attitude to boot. I know when to buckle down and
push ahead to get the job done and I do it well. I know when to lay the tools of
my trade aside, grab my kite and head for the meadow where I can run with the
wind. Many people will see and admire in me this lovely combination of a person
who can focus, but who is flexible enough to know when to let the spirit move me
in some new and livelier direction.
It's a life they aspire to, and they delight in seeing it played out in my life.
They may ask my advice and turn me into a mentor of the full and balanced
experience. They will want to know how I do it, what the costs are, and if I get
frightened that I am not working hard enough or playing often enough. They may
make me think about my own life more than I have, so I can share it with those
who want to emulate this balance between flexibility and focus.
In situations where I feel very safe, when I know and trust the people I am with, I can be very kindhearted and unrestrained. I let my affection for and pleasure in being with others flow freely. I am wide open and when I get back this same kind of unrestrained warmth, I am deeply satisfied. Because I am so friendly and full of life, these are among my favorite moments.
Many
people, most probably, will be glad to be in the room I am in. At work I make
the environment livelier and the banter more interesting, so the time moves
swiftly and the experience is a happier one. At home I keep everyone connected
because I engage each of them in the conversational action, and as a result they
are more connected as well with one another. I make home a warmer and more
interesting place for everyone who lives there.
So almost everyone will be glad to be with me, I make life more interesting for
those I live and work with, and I could help some of my friends who need just a
little encouragement to open up and find in themselves the kinds of energetic
and warm connections that I thrive on. Not that I am a pushover; in fact, I am
often quite assertive. In taking care of myself I also make sure that others are
engaged and energized.
My approach toward obligations is: FOCUSED AND FLEXIBLE
