after spoiling us with the cd-ep "slick" in 2004, superspy kicks ass
in an exciting and different way on their 2006 LP "gold label de luxe".
they skillfully avoid any musical pigeonholing with a unique mix of rockin'
grooves, hard
swinging horns and stimulating ska-parts. twelve songs with emotional lyrics
and
catchy tunes clearly show what the girl and six boys really are; rockers
from the heart who enjoy
experimenting with their different musical roots and their love of ska.
they are successful when the saxophone can be mistaken for the
guitar part or when the sound of a trumpet resembles feedback. their
experiment is a success -
"gold label de luxe"!. and it really becomes de luxe when the spies present
their new album live
on stage - full of fun and energy.
