About Me

I read this recently: --The good things in life are those that feel like self-indulgence. --Don't give yourself to anything or anybody: You may not get yourself back. --Self-sacrifice is another word for manipulation. --If you don't have something you want it's because you haven't wanted it enough. --Fucking up is an educational opportunity. --Once you've learned how to own your own problems you've learned how to get everyone else's off your back. --Only if you love yourself will you have the confidence to love anyone else. --"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Sure. You wouldn't want any condescending bullshit, either. It is titled "Yuppie Wisdom." I thought it was pretty funny but also pretty accurate. Of course f*ing up is an educational opportunity and I've had a lot of education. But then I thought that maybe the fact I thought it was so true was in a way bad, like I was a big cynic or something (which I probably am). Then I thought that the fact I was thinking about why my feeling that way would be bad was in itself something bad. Then I stopped because I have a tendency to overanalyze things. Occupational hazard. But I also do a fairly decent job at being able to relax and just have a good time. Actually much better than decent. Almost professional really. JK.Some things about me - I have a few really close friends and a lot of acquaintances. I am very independent. I am half-Lebanese. I may come across as reserved unless you know me. I almost always say yes to happy hour. I have a bad habit of going off on tangents when telling a story. And also with interrupting. I'm aware of it, I just can't help it. I am usually running at least 15 minutes late. I am great at giving advice but can't follow my own. I'm generous to a fault. I'm a horrible insomniac. I like drinking mimosas (esp at the Lake), conversations that actually have meaning, high heels & anything fashion-related, traveling, and quoting movies. I don't like hypocrites, mornings, country music, cold weather, New Years Eve in KC, bad drivers, poor grammar, and DRAMA. I'm nearing 30 and am not quite sure what I expected out of life at this point but I think I will just keep going with what comes along and find out... retro layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com MyHotComments
