About Me

I'm from a farm in northern Iowa. I went to the U of Iowa for two years and remained in Iowa City for another two. I played guitar in Hot Dates & Hand Grenades , RACE to the BOTTOM , and Bomb Selleck . I live in uptown Minneapolis surrounded by hipster morons. I am a personal care assistant to pay the bills, and I spend a lot of my free time playing music; I'm in an experimental band called SUPERVOLCANO! and a hardcore band called collapse . I am into bicycles and love working on them. I volunteer at the Arise! Bookstore. I have "extremist" views on the world. That's about it.
"Zombies" - RACE to the BOTTOM (The Picador, Iowa City)
"I just cannot stop
Asking why, always why
Running and running
Wandering and wondering
No matter how many years fly by
Screaming "Who, what, and when?"
Like some crazed eight year old
Who needs to know everything
In a world so filled with nothing
Running and running
Towards one ounce of proof
Things that will not crumble at the slightest touch
You tell me who the hell I'm gonna trust
I can't stand looking at grown-ups
Never mind trust them
Loud and proud laughing at things that are not funny
Chewing happily on what is left
Of this cold, gray, flawed world
I just gotta keep right on running
Away from it all
Towards tears born from lesson
Towards dreams instead of dollars
Half my age and stupidly brave
'Cause anything is better than lying
In some comfortable deathbed
Staring into the abyss
As afraid of living as I am of not living
Though one time I awoke
And could still feel the cold steel of a sword
That had been thrust into me"
"Bang the Drum Slowly" - Bane
"This union that made us powerless
Is talking over our heads
Claiming prosperity in a
Downward spiral plan
Stuck by the deadly rhythm
Of the production line
Stuck by the deadly rhythm
Of the production line
This power that made us unionless
Is taking out of our hands
Cheapest labour at our expensive cost
Auctioned our lives away
Stuck by the deadly rhythm
Of the production line
Stuck by the deadly rhythm
Of the production line
We consume our lives
Like we are thankful
For what we are being forced into
Is it our duty to die
For governments & for gods?
Is it our privilege to slave
For market & for industry?
Is it our right to follow laws
Set to scare and to oppress?
Is it a gift to stay in line
And will it take away the blame?
Can no longer pay the price.
We'll get organized!
We'll no longer believe
Working for you will set us free!
Can no longer pay the price.
We'll get organized!
We'll no longer believe
Working for you will set us free!"
"The Deadly Rhythm (Of the Production Line)" - Refused
"Wicked and twisted
See through the eyes of the far more sinister
Unfold to face the wolves
This day I cast no shadows
Something unseen
Always a step behind me
Black tears
cannot be divided
Beat them at every turn
Nothing burns like a hurt for money
Trade love / life for dividends
In the end inherit nothing
I wish pain upon this city
Old word hold no meaning
I unfold to face myself
Laugh at those who laugh at the dead
The night air chokes
Through ghosts of businessmen
"Do not sell all you are
For all you think you see, my pretties"
There is no final word
As long as you breathe
There is no final verse
As long as you live"
"Year of the Hex" - Frodus
