"I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy, playing on the seashore, and diverting myself, in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, while the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me."
- Isaac Newton -
Greetings. My name is Joey Rivers.
During the past five years I have drawn into my life the most wonderful and amazing individuals I could have ever dreamed of and I shyly but happily accepted them into my reality. For some of these individuals, a bond was established between us which was deepened and strengthened over time. For the others, we experienced some underlying conflict and went our separate ways.
During these past five years I have observed myself learn, grow, and evolve towards my own endeavor. I have observed my tears and my laughter and have witnessed my genuinely blissful smile after many, many years of depression and loathing. I have opened myself to vast and new concepts, perspectives, beliefs, and lifestyles. I have sought harmony with the universe and accepted into my life the incandescence of Love and Hope.
I was always naturally well-versed in the very human language which transcends words and I have perceived in a way that very few do, most especially the impatient young souls of my generation. I am an old soul and resonate with a smaller percentage of human beings.
I do not nearly as often gaze out unto the world with sadness and despair. I have begun to examine the things in life which have reinforced each movement of my being and helped me to withstand and understand my own existence. I have pulled back the obscuring veil and gazed into my own eyes with confidence and Love. I have understood over time and with greater clarity that while every human being on this planet is projected towards their own unique endeavors there is no true distinction between them.
I've been told that I have the appearance of innocence, especially when I sincerely smile. I have found myself thinking of this for the past several weeks and found it to be sensible. And more often than not I have questioned my identity rather than the sense of it. What is it that I have perceived myself to be? I have always been aware to the fact that I am a wavelength, albeit one that has accelerated considerably more than others. And yet, there is instability. But this doesn’t answer the questions that have been pursuing me. Upon removing the gadgetry and foolery which orchestrate the deceptions of personality and appearance, what is there to behold in me? An old soul, a mature mind, and a child’s heart.
Although I could attempt to explicate the projection of whom and what I perceive myself to be, I would far greater prefer to leave it up to you to venture into the darkness behind my eyes.
