Diploma Popular Music Studies (Drumtech London)I work as a drummer, musician and session player. I am a Drumtech graduate who has been taught by the best in the business, including Ralph Salmins (session drummer for Robbie Williams and Van Morrison) and Tom Meadows (drummer for Lucie Silvas, Jamelia and Duffy).I have just completed a Commercial Music degree at Canterbury Christ Church University. I am also continuing my studies with session ace Ralph Salmins.I am experienced in live and studio situations and have performed and recorded with named artists including: contestants of BBC's Fame Academy, contestants of ITV's Pop Idol and also Jack Hues (lead singer of 80's pop act Wang Chung).Recent projects I have been involved in include indie rock outfit Ultraviolet. In 2006 we released a self-funded album entitled 'Uncomfortable Silence' which led us to be signed to C3U Records who have funded the release of our first single 'Colours'. Ultraviolet have enjoyed great success live and have had support slots to artists such as: Alabama 3, Kim Marsh (from Hear Say), Paul Young and also members of 70's rock act Bad Company. Ultraviolet have also enjoyed media attention from: Radio Kent, Virgin, Invicta, Time FM, and newspapers: The Guardian and Thanet Gazette. In January 2008, I joined the band Device, who are signed to Vashion Ferry Records. I played with them throughout 2008 including a tour of Europe, a headlining slot at the Clapham Grand London and a nine date tour of the U.S.A including the CMJ festival in New York.I am also drummer for function bands Reyes and Devils Rope. With both bands I have had great success performing around the country at weddings, parties and on one occasion a charity ball function arranged by Esther Ranson and Dennis Waterman. Reyes are off to Denmark this month (May 2009) for two dates.Outside of live performance and recording, I teach drums one to one from my studio, I also teach private lessons in several schools. I work for The Beat Project, a charity that teaches children in music workshops in and around Kent. For my teaching I endorse John Savage teaching books.Contact me via email for sessions, teaching workshops and lessons. You can also check out:www.myspace.com/jamieselbydrums
