About Me
After touring Europe and California with a Commedia D’elle Arte troupe for two consecutive summers, Katie Northlich made the leap to New York. She has been writing and performing original characters in New York City since May of 2001, emphasizing the important fusion of physical and vulnerable in her material. She was an original member in Second City NY's comedy showcase in the fall of 2002, and she is a three time Manhattan Monologue Slam Champion. Most recently she debuted Lenore Baeli Wang's new solo modern/classic poetry piece through the Princeton Repertory Theatre. Her latest solo show, CHARACTER FORUM: A THESIS*, was written and workshopped in NY at Emerging Artists Theatre and the Peoples' Improv Theatre. It has been seen at the 2005 NY Fashion Playfest and the 2005 TheatreSource Estrogenius Festival, and was a New York Magazine pick of the week in August, 2005. NEW YORK: Twelfth Night, And Then Like Ophelia, The Odd Couple, Man With Bags, Two Rooms. COMEDY: Original cabaret acts at Dillon’s, Don’t Tell Mama’s, and Danny’s Skylight Room; stand-up at Stand Up NY, New York Comedy Club, Caroline’s on Broadway; improv/sketch training at The PIT, UCB, and Armando Diaz Productions.
