Tim Lapthorn Trio

Tim Lapthorn trio was formed in 2002 with the aim of creating open, heartfelt and explorative jazz. Simple themes - original compositions, standards, folk songs, blues songs - are used as a springboard for improvisation with a real focus on groove and contrast. The trio has released three albums to date: 'Outlines' (Independent, 2002); 'Natural Language' (Basho Records, 2004) and 'Seventh Sense' (Basho 2007). They have performed at Ronnie Scott's, Appleby Jazz Festival, Manchester Jazz festival and many other fine places!
