Movies:

"...what are you gonna do huh, nice college boy, didn't want to get mixed up in the family business...now you wanna gun down a police captain, why, cause he slapped you in the face a little. This ain't like the army you know, where you shoot em' from a mile away, you gotta get up close like this and bada bing you blow their brains all over your nice Ivy League suit..."

Television:

News Corp in $580m internet buy, Rupert Murdoch and his family own almost 30% of News Corp News Corp, the company run by media mogul Rupert Murdoch, has made one of its first major internet purchases. It has bought Intermix Media, owner of Myspace.com, the fifth most-viewed internet domain in the US and owner of other sites for $580m (£332.85m).Mr Murdoch says the networking site will drive traffic to his Fox TV sites.Last week the company set up a new internet unit. Mr Murdoch has said that newspapers have been slow to respond to competition from the internet. -BBC News

Books:

This is why I hate the fact that Rupert Murdoch owns myspace. Has anyone noticed the "Help Bush Win" games that come up occasionally on our home pages. In one he's fighting Mike Tyson and in another he's knitting an American flag with Saddam Hussein racing him; if you help him win you'll get a free Motorola Razor phone or an IPOD. Does anyone else notice that? My theory (let me emphasize MY THEORY) is that maybe there's an underlying, promotional, advertisement type subconscious thing going on here. Now, I'm not a psychologist but I sense the subtleness of this pro-Bush propaganda that's being pushed on a demographic that is not necessarily pro-Bush. I'm not talking about my age group, the circa 24 year olds. I'm talking about the younger minds, 14-20 year olds who are still easily influenced by advertisements of this kind. I urge you all to not fall into this trap. If you're pro-Bush than so be it, just understand why, look deeper into his views, believe what he believes and support what YOU as a person want to support. Don't let anything or anyone compromise your position and where you stand. -JoseWhat is the difference between unethical and ethical advertising? Unethical advertising uses falsehoods to deceive the public; ethical advertising uses truth to deceive the public. -Vilhjalmur StefanssonEither way the public is being decieved. (Jose)
