The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom which was created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. It is a satirical parody of the middle class American lifestyle epitomized by its titular family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional town of Springfield, and it lampoons many aspects of the human condition, as well as American culture, society as a whole, and television itself.The family was conceived by Groening shortly before a pitch for a series of animated shorts with the producer James L. Brooks. Groening created a dysfunctional family and named the characters after members of his own family, substituting Bart for his own name. The shorts became a part of The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987. After a three-season run, the sketch was developed into a half-hour prime time show and was an early hit for Fox, becoming the first Fox series to land in the Top 30 ratings in a season (1992-1993)Stephen King's Creepshow is a 1982 anthology horror movie directed by George A. Cassandra Peterson reprises her role as horror hostess Elvira in her feature film debut. The screenplay was written by Peterson, John Paragon and Sam Egan. The original music score was composed by James B. Campbell.The demand for Elvira increased throughout the 1980s. A frequent guest on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and many other talk shows, she also produced a long series of Halloween-themed TV ads for Coors Light Beer and Mug Root Beer. She did guest roles on television dramas such as CHiPs, The Fall Guy, and Fantasy Island, and appeared on numerous awards shows as a presenter. However, despite the fact that her success is forever linked to her image as Elvira, Peterson has never been reluctant to appear in television interviews and specials as herself.The show is initially set in 60,000,003 BC with the years, months and days counting toward zero (in the first episode, Robbie asks his father if he ever questions what they are counting down to). The show centers on the Sinclair family (a reference to Sinclair Oil Corporation which uses a dinosaur as its logo) - the father (Earl Sinclair, a reference to Earl Holding, Sinclair Oil's principal owner), the mother (Fran Sinclair), the son (Robbie Sinclair), the daughter (Charlene Sinclair), the baby (Baby Sinclair), and the grandmother (Ethyl Phillips, a reference to Phillips Petroleum and ethyl gasoline) (curiously, they all appear to belong to wildly different species: Earl, Fran and Robbie look like carnivorous dinosaurs, and Charlene resembles an ceratopsian herbivore). Earl's job is to push over trees for the Wesayso Corporation (alluding to the fact that petroleum comes from compressed trees and other organic matter, keeping with the petroleum theme of the show) with his friend and coworker Roy Hess (Hess Corporation is another regional petroleum chain). Another reference to petroleum companies is Earl's boss, named B.P. Richfield. Earl's employer, the Wesayso Corporation's logo also is a reference to DuPont Chemical's traditional oval logo.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (or simply Ninja Turtles, and previously known in the United Kingdom as Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles) are a fictional team of four turtle mutants, who are trained by their sensei, Master Splinter, in the art of Ninjutsu. From their home in the sewers of Manhattan, they battle petty criminals, evil megalomaniacs, and alien invaders, all while remaining isolated from society at large. The characters initially appeared in comic books before being licensed for toys, cartoons and film adaptations.Much of the Turtles' mainstream success is owed to a licensing agent, Mark Freedman, who sought out Eastman and Laird to propose wider merchandising opportunities for the offbeat property. In 1986, Dark Horse Miniatures produced a set of 15 mm lead figurines. In January 1988, they visited the offices of Playmates Toys Inc, a small California toy company who wished to expand into the action figure market. Accompanied by the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1987 TV series, the TMNT were soon catapulted into pop culture history. At the height of the frenzy, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Turtles' likenesses could be found on a wide range of children's merchandise, from PEZ dispensers to skateboards, breakfast cereal, toothpaste, school supplies and cameras. The original cartoon series was featured on VH1's I Love The 80's and the toys based upon the show were ranked 33 in I Love Toys.ALF is a 24-minute television sitcom that originally ran on NBC from 1986 to 1990 and was created by Paul Fusco. The plot involves the title character Gordon Shumway, an alien nicknamed ALF (for Alien Life Form) portrayed by Paul Fusco and Michu Meszaros, who crash lands in the garage of the suburban middle class Tanner family. Uncovering new powers, clues and evil the club reunites as adults and come face to face with the evil that has haunted and fed on derry for the last centuries.Tales from the Crypt is a horror anthology American TV series that ran from 1989 to 1996 on the premium cable channel HBO. It was based on the 1950s EC Comics series of the same name and was produced by HBO with uncredited association by The Geffen Film Company and Warner Bros. Television (all part of a production consortium officially called Tales From The Crypt Holdings).It was one of the few anthology series to be allowed to have full freedom from censorship by the FCC, because it was on HBO, a premium cable television station. The station allowed the series to contain graphic violence as well as other content that had not appeared in most television series up to that time, such as profanity, gore, nudity, and sexual situations.

When serial killer Charles Lee Ray is mortally wounded in a police shoot-out, he uses a voodoo spell to transfer his soul into Chucky, a "Good Guys" doll. Oh yeah, the the Tanners also have a cat, which looks rather tasty...The Simpsons was an early hit for Fox, and has won several major awards. In its 1998 issue celebrating the greatest achievements in arts and entertainment of the 20th century, Time magazine named The Simpsons the century's best television series.[3] On January 14, 2000 the Simpsons was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This film is very obscure, even in Japan where it was released, and not much is known about it; even the video release of the movie has become hard to find. The video was produced by Japanese animation company Grouper Productions, and it marked the animated debut of Mario's brother Luigi, damsel-in-distress Princess Peach, and his nemesis, the reptilian Bowser (Koopa in Japan). The plot, based off of the first Super Mario Bros. game, revolves around Mario and Luigi being sucked into their Famicom game and having to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser.
