The Days and Lifetime of Tyree KartrellBorn: May 21st,1977 in Columbus, Ohio
-only child, rotten to the core
-born into an extremely musical family
-lived there till 10yrs old then moved to Tennessee
-1999 moved to Atlanta, GA
-Father was a gospel singer three albums under his belt
-mother and father both sing & write, grandmother is a
pianist, aunt musical director, etc. list goes on
-started singing at 3yrs old, piano at 6, drums at 9, guitar
at 15
For some reason I tried to dodge being involved with music
until I was 16, then I completely noticed my talent and began
to get serious; then it was all over. I started writing at 17,
involved in chorus at high school I later obtained a music
scholarship in 1995. I stayed in college for 3 yrs and left to
pursue my music. That is when I moved to Hotlanta( the new
Motown).Musical Influences: my influences are so wide it’s hard to just
Pinpoint a few people. Raised in the church, so of course
Gospel is a huge influence, then jazz, classical, r&b, latin,
Soul, funk, and hip-hop.Artists & Bands that left an impact on me are:
Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke,
Roberta Flack, Joe Sample, Ramsey Lewis, Patrice Rushen,
Richard Smallwood, Fred Hammond, Thomas Whitfield,
Lionel Richie, the Gap Band, Earth-Wind & Fire, Michael &
Janet Jackson, Toni Tony Tone, the Beatles, Doobie Brothers,
the Clark Sisters, the Winans, Daryl Coley, Debarge
and so many others I don’t have enough ink & paper.My aspirations and goals are to live my life to please my God
and to do my part in the world.
