Classically trained as a small nubbin, picked up a bass at 14 so I could actually stand up, run around on stage, and break things - that was fun, so I decided to have more of it. Did that for a while, returned to keys and started Robin's Wonderful Adventure in the Land of Synthesizers, Sequencers, and trying find where this Studio cord went. It's rolicking fun, actually.I've played in many (many) different bands. I've learned something important from each of them. In my studio, with the people I collaborate with, I expiriment. Some of these songs on this page work, some don't. Some are dead serious, others are honest grinning silliness. I don't care if this stuff is commercial - and man, that's a great feeling. I don't make music for money. I don't make music for approval. I make it to make myself happy - and curiously it seems to have that effect on others, so - cool. Thanks Be that there are exceptions to mindless music - the bands / artists in my Top Friends are, in my humble opinion, some of the most talented people on the planet, doing interesting things and breaking out of the commerciality that strangles the mind - all brought to your attention through myspace. It's time to run around and break things.Gray and I recently started a new project - DreamLevel7. I'm really excited about it. We're pouring into DL7 everything we've learned about songwriting, structure, sequencing, perfomance and putting on a show. Check out the link in my Top 10 for developments.Another band I played with until recently is Greenbracelet. They're great - kinda old school, classic, with an interesting sound. They're going to be playing out more in the near future, so check 'em out - here's the link to their MySpace page and a video.Green Bracelet

Band Members: Robin - he plays everything (so if there's something that sounds odd - he probably planned it that way, or at least wants you to think he planned it that way, so blame him and only him). Robin uses Kinetic, Acid, Reason, Soundforge, and Sonar 7 Producer Edition for digital audio and midi sequencing chained to a Triton 88 weighted synth, a microKorg, an MAudio Oxegyn 8, and a Korg Electribe EM-1. Robin likes Korg. And stringed things. Grayorpheus' studio has several hanging on the wall and he wonders when they'll fall on his head. ST include a Epiphone 5-string bass, a Schecter 4 string, a Fender Jazz fretless, a DeArmond "Gumby' bass which is quite delicious, and the old Fender Precision with a Japanese neck, EMGs courtesy of the Antiseptic Society, and a BadAss bridge. For those social occasions that require more than 5 strings, Grayson uses a DeArmond "Gumby" (again?!), a Bill Lawrence Strat, a Fender Highway 1 Strat, and Washburn, Alvarez, and Ibanez/Talman guitars. And a mandolin. And lots of pedals. And wierd adapter thingys that no one knows where they came from. Because we asked and everyone just shakes their heads and changes the subject. And a cat. And this channel changer.
Influences: Bach (The Master), Peter Gabriel (The Master Reborn) TheThe, Johnny Marr, Scritti Politti (!), Prefab Sprout, Vivaldi, Yes, Amish Rake Fight, CSI Vegas, Thomas Mann, The Residents, Prefab Sprout, Coltrane, Todd Rundgren, King Crimson, Aphex Twin, Rush, PetShopBoys, Ministry of Sound, Machines of Loving Grace, Gandhi, John Donne, Lyle Lovett, Stowkowski, Karajan (we've forgiven him for 1939), Tangerine Dream, Pat Sajak, North Texas All-Stars, John Cage, Phillip Glass, Mozart (but difficult to listen to - too much pain), Verdi, Oingo Boingo, New Order, Faith No More (the original lineup, not the succesful one with the poseur frontman), Medieval Plainchant, NWA, ELP, Johnny Cash, M'shelle N'dgocello, Warren Zevon, Voice ot the Beehive, Follow for Now, Depeche Mode, David Gilmour, Thomas Harris, radiohead, John Glassock, TMBG, Wall of Voodoo, Japan, Duke Ellington, Sabbath, Firenze at Dusk, Malcolm McClaren, The Allman Brothers, Priest, Brian Eno (My Life in the Bush of Ghosts), Laurie Anderson, Queen (Paul Rodgers? Really now...), Stan Ridgeway, Zep, LINKTV, Beck (Jeff and well, just Beck), more 2 come
