About Me

I work in Manhattan as an information systems analyst/librarian - a world of glamour and excitement nonstop, to be sure! I've got a BA in English Lit, and a MA in Information Science. I have a dark sense of humor, and aside from being well-read, I eat librarian stereotypes for breakfast. Love concerts (actually that's where I most often am), readings, photography, shows, museums, films, shopping & aimless wandering, but I can also sit quietly with nothing but the breeze to entertain me. I am trying to eat more lettuce, but it's such a boring food.

My Interests

Growing older, but not up! Classic Disney animation, music (essentially anything but vulgar, misognystic rap and whiney country), Jamba Juice, peanut butter, white rice, non-smokers, pineapple pizza, mashed potatoes, Rachael Ray, Giada DiLaurentiis, peppermint tea, raspberries, Harry Potter, Star Wars, redheads, random British actresses, A&E & History Channel documentaries, running, ice skating, Lemony Snicket, dinosaurs, ravioli, photography.

I'd like to meet:

Non-psychotics. Always a good start. Aside from that, I'd hope you're a good conversationalist, but don't take yourself too seriously, and don't mind the fact that I am the definition of introverted? I like funny and quirky. Honest & genuine is good too. If you have taken a road less travelled, cool. Extra points if you're the creative type. Sports should not be a religion to you, but I'd always be up for a bike ride, run, hockey, basketball, geocaching, or long walk in some park.Hopefully, the word 'alternative' doesn't scare you but the words 'George Bush' do. You should be kind and a little bit crazy and be able to forgive my penchant for 80s music and movies, Star Wars, Disney flicks and the Gilmore Girls.

Music:

Sting, Van Morrison, U2, Captain Geech & the Shrimp Shack Shooters, Barenaked Ladies, Prince, The Beatles, Jimmy Buffett, The Rolling Stones, Moxy Fruvous, The Who, Joss Stone, The Police, Bruce Springsteen, The Time, Huey Lewis & the News, Tom Waits, The Bangles, Sheena Easton, R.E.M., Led Zeppelin, Genesis, Alexa Ray Joel, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, John Mellencamp, The Kaiser Chiefs, !!!, Bob Seger, Simon & Garfunkel, Franz Ferdinand, The Zutons, Bob Seeger, The Monkees, Snow Patrol, Ani DiFranco, Tori Amos, Sarah MacLachlan, KT Tunstall, Billy Joel, David Lee Roth era Van Halen, Moxy Fruvous, John Williams, The Chieftains, The Wolfe Tones, Harry & the Potters, Mozart, James Taylor, DMB, Natasha Bedingfield, Art Brut, The Blueskins, Razorlight, Supergrass, Keane, The Killers, Negativland, The Beastie Boys, The Pipettes.

Movies:

Star Wars and Harry Potter flicks, Indiana Jones and a lot of Spielberg's stuff, Hugh Grant sap (Love Actually, Notting Hill, About a Boy), Hitchcock's classics, Back to the Future, Teen Wolf, The Karate Kid (anything with a montage set to cheesy 80s music)The Natural, Hoosiers, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, The Goonies, Tootsie, Caddyshack, The Jerk, Kevin Smith's flicks, old Disney movies (Peter Pan, 101 Dalmations, Sleeping Beauty, etc.), older stuff like The Ghost & Mrs Muir. I'll watch anything.

Television:

Heroes, The Simpsons, Quantum Leap reruns, Gilmore Girls, Smallville when they actually remember it's supposed to be about a young Clark Kent, That 70s Show & Dawson's Creek reruns...

Too many classics to mention, but Moby Dick ranks rather highly, Kindred, by Octavia Butler, Sex Drugs & Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman, Peter Pan by Barrie, Harry Potter by Rowling, Frank McCourt's trilogy, various Star Wars novels, Arthurian literature, Women & Ham on Rye by Charles Bukowski.

Heroes:

Super Grover, Batman, Finn MacCoul.
