Charlie Hu$tle was born at Howard University hospital in the 80’s. As a product of his environment hustle, gained interest in radio broadcasting equipment and turntable equipment. In the late 80’s hustle, moved to California in the beginning stages of the west coast era. As the 90’s were ushered in southern California, the west coast movement was in full swing with Death Row Records leading the movement. During this time Charlie Hu$tle was steadily following his role models Run DMC and Jam Master Jay. Also at this time Charlie Hu$tle was learning the fundamentals and functions of keyboards.
But in 1994, things changed greatly for Charlie Hu$tle. While watching the final episode of YO MTV! RAPS, hustle made the decision that he wanted to do what Jam Master Jay and Jazzy Jeff did, and that was dj. Later that year Charlie Hu$tle moved from the L.A. streets to the infamous eastside of Decatur, GA. This is where he found his “voice†in the heart of Decatur. Within the same year Charlie Hu$tle also became interested in a revelountary DJ in Houston, TX named DJ Screw. DJ Screw was credited with creating the chopped and screwed style of mixing where the record is slowed down and the favorite lines of the rapper are doubled in a delay to make the lines repeat itself.
By the end of the year Charlie Hu$tle was armed with a pair of used pioneer turntables and a two channel mixer. Hu$tle spent day and night mastering the art of mixing, beatmatching and blending. During this time, Atlanta was going through a musical evolution with the in of Atlanta bass and the creation of “Crunk†music. By the time Charlie Hu$tle attended Stephenson High School he was ready to start spinning records at parties and functions and “Crunk†music was rapidly becoming the dominant form of southern hip hop.
In 2000 Charlie Hu$tle moved to the state of Michigan where the Midwest movement was still early. While living in Michigan Hu$tle, mixed the techno/house style of mixing and intergraded the styles with the knowledge that was gained form the south and from the west coast. By intergrading these styles together along with the chopped and screwed remixing pioneered by the late DJ Screw, Charlie Hu$tle became a well-known DJ with in the state. In 03, Hu$tle made the move back to Decatur to bring a new change to southern turntablism. Upon his return, Hu$tle re-gained notoriety with his groundbreaking mixtape series called “Southern Backlashâ€. Though the series was strictly a screwed series, it helped introduce the screwed remixing in a new light. It was always under the impression that chopped and screwed remixes can only come from Houston. With Charlie Hu$tle starting this series this proved the fact that the remixes can come out from a different state and still provide the same quality. By the end of 04 Charlie Hu$tle realized that a lot of dj’s were doing the same type of style and format, so Hu$tle went on a temporary hiatus. While on hiatus, Hu$tle was still in the street with mass distribution of new music through e-mail distribution. Also, Hu$tle learned how to incorporate more then two turntables.
When 2005 hit, Charlie Hu$tle came out of hiatitus and was quickly signed to Hustle Squad DJ’s started out in Houston, TX. Within the same year Charlie Hu$tle, as well as the rest of the Hustle Squad DJ’s played a role in the major marketing campaign for the T-Mobile Sidekick 3 by breaking the song “Sidekick Pimpin†by Spark Dawg as well as creating the mixtape that was released with the Sidekick 3 in 2006. In the year of 06 also proved to be extremely busy the Charlie Hu$tle’s emerging company the Money Inc Media Group. Charlie Hu$tle as also help break artist such as Yung Texxus who is currently signed with a solo deal to Desert Storm Entertainment and the Group Green City witch both Spark Dawg and Yung Texxus are both currently members to signed to Scarface’s new label Underground Railroad.
As 06 continued Charlie Hu$tle gained more ground then ever before with establishing his name and his brand in markets outside the southern regions via the widely popular website www.myspace.com/6789493202. Hu$tle was able to begin to break popular regional artist Doc Holiday from Los Angels, CA and the infamous rapper/producer and former MTV employee Skullz. With the affiliations growing and the popularity rising Charlie Hu$tle work load is expected to be extremely heavy with the beginning of 2007.
