One of the best ways to get to know me is through my poetry. I don't write everyday or about any and everything. I write when I am feeling something, whether it be love, frustration, loneliness, whatever the case may be. I write from my heart, and it is not meant to please anyone but me. I write to get my thoughts out of my head, to get things off of my chest, and because it's very therapeutic. The poem below is one of my favorites because it touches on a lot of things that are important in my life. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~A Deeper Meaning~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Guided by the light that shines from love I glide through life trying to find unbridled happiness.Blinded by the gleam of dangerous direction, I search... through bad decisions, through responsibility, through maturity, through popularity, trying to rid myself of ending up with a life full of uncertainty and falseness.Oppressed by currency made of trees, called paper, dough, and cheese, I fight for the belief that all you need in life is love.Succeeded by a woman stronger than the tie that binds, A woman who would give her last breath to protect her kids, A woman that all my life I have looked up to an aspire to be, A woman that has never given me a reason to doubt that I am loved.Strengthened by life and its many cruel obstacles, meticulous guidelines and procedures, love and all of its trivial games, commandments, and beneficial lessons, man and their myriad of faults, occasional cruelties, and unconditional support, I have become one who can withstand and endure almost anything.Armed with weapons of love, confidence in myself, knowledge, and my faith in God, I fight those who think I'm inferior, who try to make me what they want me to be, who disrespect my morals and being, or those who try to tell me what I'm capable of, I defeat my opponents because of the skill and magnitude of my armor, and the preparation put into the construction of it.United with God, when it is my time to go home, when all is done, when my mission is complete, and when my life, comes to an end.~~~~~
