Smooth Money Gesture

About Me

..
.. .. ..
Smooth Money Gesture is the culmination of over four years of musical experimentation, travel and friendship. Since originally forming in the spring of 2005 the band has seen many changes in talent before finally landing in the current configuration over the winter of 2009, which is by far the most solid with Doug Diminico playing guitar and singing alongside his brother Dan Diminico on bass guitar and vocals. Josh Gitlin-Rich, who has been playing with the Diminico brothers since their childhood back in Boston, MA, adds his own brand of guitar and synth sounds to compliment Pete Goldberg, formerly of Gold Hill, on the keys. Meanwhile, keeping everything in time is Zack Scott on the drums.
The quintet’s sound is rooted in rock and roll with elements of funk, bluegrass, metal, and electronica, which has evolved into a high energy psychedelic sound of their own. Upon listening to Smooth Money Gesture you will hear imaginative originals intermingled with a few unexpected covers/teases/samples of some of their influences including The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, The Allman Brothers, The Grateful Dead, and Phish, just to name a few.
Smooth Money Gesture can be seen all over their home state of Colorado where they have graced the stage of many venues including Boulder’s Fox Theater. Included in their ever expanding touring schedule are the great states of Idaho, Arizona, New Mexico as well as the Hog Wallow in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is just a matter of time before you see Smooth Money Gesture rocking out in your town soon.
