About Me

Poignant.Oh my god, I need to get home.Oooohh!!! People will come, Ray. People will most definitely come.I will always love this.CP3!.. Yes, that's Eddie Vedder doing Take Me Out To The Ballgame at Wrigley Field. This is outstanding in every way possible:..I'm Mike V. Some call me Red. Some call me Big Red. Some call me Vestie. Some just call me V. Answer to any of those without preference, but also kinda like just being called Mike. This is my college experience right here. Favorite line: "You should practice this when I'm not here. Will you practice?" .. Here are some facts about me: I was born in Topeka, Kansas. I bat right, kick left, throw right, eat left, golf right, sleep on both sides. I work at Wake Forest in the the athletic department. I've become a neat freak in my old age. I like to keep my sunglasses on my head so I don't lose them. I'm sentimental -- for a guy. I have been to 47 states (missing Alaska, Vermont and North Dakota and I don't have a good reason to go other than to just go) I have traveled to 12 countries on two continents. I thought I was easily the biggest U2 fan around until 22,000 people were singing along with me in Charlotte last December. I have never voted in my life, I'm starting to think that I should. But I don't want the jury duty. I feel like Americans are starting to look really silly in the eyes of the world. Thank god we only have two neighbors. I prefer multiple choice to open-ended questions. In other words, I can't think of anything else.I'll make it!..

My Interests

Sports of all kinds. Media Relations. Graphic Design. Publications. Skiing. Chicago. Boston. London. Europe.

Music:

Well, lots. But here's the short list: U2, Counting Crows, Coldplay, Beastie Boys, Ryan Adams.

Movies:

Amelie, Wedding Crashers, Rounders, Swingers, Gladiator, High Fidelity, Lost In Translation, Ocean's 11, you know.

Television:

Entourage. Curb Your Enthusiasm. Seinfeld. Baseball Tonight. Real Time With Bill Maher.

Heroes:

Well, my parents top the list. I'll put Adam Clayton up there for his ability to get along despite differences. And on a lighter, but no less truthful note... Adam Duritz for his ability to outkick his coverage time and time again.
