The Hi-Fivin’ White Guys

About Me

BIO: THE HI-FIVIN' WHITE GUYS

As the skate-punk sound of the early 90s was birthing in Southern California, Leon Samson and Josh Malia found themselves in the woods of Maine; working shitty jobs, finishing up the high school years, smoking pot, chasing girls, and masturbating. A lot.

Eventually the music trekked across the map, introduced itself to the young Mainers, and completely ruined their lives.
A blatant disregard for morality, ethics, and decency ensued, as they discarded all ambitions for the future outside the realm of punk music. The Taxis(formed by Malia), and The Skatistics(Samson), provided the underprivileged and culturally inept kids of Maine a glimpse of ska and punk rock, done the only way they know how; fast and loud. Both of the local bands called it quits in their prime, before anyone could tire of them, but from the divorce came The Hi-Fivin White Guys.
For the past four years the HFWG have defined Port City Punk Rock, playing with the intoxicating vigor that would land them a spot on a great SoCal punk label, if only they lived on the other coast.
Malias lyrics and axe-handling echo the greatness of something Weasel, while Samsons bass is paralleled only by his lunatic-smooth stage presence. Teamed with Brian Higgins ability to manipulate the physics of percussion, the HFWG hone a sound that goes beyond shitty day-jobs, substance abuse, sex, masturbation, and Maine winters.
Blending humor, anger, speed and raw talent and technicality, the HFWG will touch you in that special place reserved for parents, doctors, and clergy.
HI-FIVIN' FACTS: The Hi-Fivin' White Guys have no interest in making any sort of impact on any music scene through contest(I.E. ernie ball BTOB or any BTOB for that matter).
The Hi-Fivin' White Guys ARE NOT down with selling tickets to your show.
The Hi-Fivin' White Guys ARE down with spitting beer.
The Hi-Fivin' White Guys will eat any and all meat that you are all set with eating but, do feel bad about the way the animals were raised... especially the chickens.....
The Hi-Fivin' White Guys are fine with you being straight edge but not fine with you preaching it.
The Hi-Fivin' White Guys will add more facts as they come to mind.
