Raised in Carson and Orange County in Southern California, he learned how to value humble beginnings and how to survive in any concrete jungle across the US. After traveling to Europe to go overseas for school, he realized that there was a life outside of the hood. From 1998 until 2001, he has lived in Michigan before moving to New York to pursue music and attend NYU. To his credit, he has only been in the game since July of 2004, but he's been trying to get on for 6 years. With appearances on the Lansing's local radio station Power 96.5 F.M., cable station Mun Dos at Hunter College in 2004 and independently released DVD The Come-Up volume 3, he has performed as a battle emcee and a featured artist. Also, with extensive collaboration, he has worked with producers Crown from Brooklyn and Chill Will from Los Angeles. With the support of some of the biggest mixtape DJs in the tri-state area that include Big Mike, Cutmaster C, DJ Uneek, Mister Cee and DJ Self with Chris Cakes, VIP is persistent and determined to push his way to the top of the music game.
