This ambitious Young Lady is no stranger to hard work and dedication. It seemed almost predestined for her to be a Musician. Originally from Mount Vernon, NY, with a Jamaican family background, Miraj demonstrated an immediate focus on music. Her mother describes how, It was an amazing thing to see her baby light up and harmonize with her whenever she sang to her. At the age of barely 2 years old she began to play the piano and sing anywhere she saw a piano. At church, in a restaurant, at, in stores, her mother explainsanywhere she saw a piano she was playing it This self taught pianist and vocalist began to sing and play familiar songs as well as write her own songs as a toddler. It is no surprise why her father went ahead and purchased her first keyboard while she was still in her crib! By age 3 she was prolifically writing songs and eventually began performing at local events and school performances. Her first big talent competition was at age 6 performing an original song entitled Banana at the Doles Center in Mount Vernon. She came out winning first place and began to make a name for herself as a Musician. Over the years Miraj has grown not only as a versatile trained Vocalist, Musician, and Songwriter, but has also taken a firm hold on her career by expanding as a producer and studio engineer. Miraj took the time to study the musical and studio engineering aspects of the industry. By college, Miraj began the 4 year process of financing and building a state of the art personal studio to work on her projects. Miraj has taken on a path that no female vocalist has ever done before. Her upcoming album Musical Prism features a compelling collection of original music done on her own as well as in collaboration with fellow producers, writers, and guest Artists. Her music style captures all the best features of the Popular, Dance, Reggae, and R&B music genres and blends them together to create a unique and bold new sound.
