Gavin Judd

Started out singing acapella during music clubs in college with Phil Ward of Rotunda Records and Apple Crumble fame and began playing guitar aged 17. Made garage sessions at Plester Palace in the early 90's with childhood friends Russell Plester and Duncan Smart and went on to join a 13 piece Latin outfit called Don Pato at Portsmouth University. Joined The Latin Cube DJ collective to spread funk and latin music across southern England. Together with Greg Brosnan from the fantastic Tepeyac Usto formed 10 piece funk band PO5. After soaking up Cumbia and Vallenato rhythms in Colombia and Mariachi in Mexico spent a few years DJing in Mexico City. Lived in Norwich, UK soaking up the Norfolk vibe and playing music at acoustic sessions! Returned to Mexico City in 2006 to form cult punk/ska band Screaming Beavers with Big Dick, Stu and big Phil in the original line up followed by the addition of Tash and little phil who naturally replaced big phil! The Screaming Beavers split up in 2008. I remain currently residing in Mexico DF DJing at various venues and playing in a latin jazz band called Soco. www.myspace.com/socoescandon
