What began in Seattle Washington as party gatherings, later found its home in Bakersfield, Ca in 1999 as a new entertainment label called "Delta 9 Entertainment". My first jolt of energy came doing assistant work with my Co-partner Dj Jap (aka Mark) in various ran down clubs/bars. We began working in a small hip hop bar on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. called "into tha nite". It wasn't much, just smokin & drinkin & peein between mix breaks and having fun. We got booked in other local bars & clubs after our own party crashers events around Rosedale, Ca. I covered some rough ground trying to make more out of my music life when we sat down to mastermind "truth records" a new label that never quite took off. The label included: Q, Jap, Bj, China, & April. Each person had a ton of talent but together it was mass chaos and too much partying which took its toll on everyone's focus. I began engineering r&b and hip hop beats and began marketing with other talent through house parties & low end clubs that, well, sucked. I sat in the studio when Truth' finished their first single "what is love", which i have on my iPhone ripped from the original Cd, which is scratched to hell. Many months later, after toils and break ups, and craziness, the owner & co-founders all split up, never to be heard of again. Q and Jap took their gigs solo. April moved to New York where she rumored to have a singing deal. China left to Atlanta to continue her rap/writing long before the group broke up. Jap & Q went solo. I remained good friends with them two but moved later to Colorado and eventually ended my route in home! It was rumored Jap moved to Texas and Q stayed in Bakersfield where I remember him battling a horrible sickle cell condition. Jap & Q were my boys who I miss dearly and I give them thanks to sparking my musical interest from only being a day dream.
