About Me

...an atmosphere which isn’t far from Empyrium’s last works. But, the main difference is certainly that the atmosphere is rather filled with hope...than melancholy...Ereipia might attract people searching for harmonious music, dealing rather with positive emotions and using a male voice... Artists seem to be experienced and their music, although unsigned, has a very good quality. (HEATHEN HARVEST)
I think this is a very promising debut album that will hold appeal for a diverse audience...The music is based on Kostas' compositions and Andy's classical voice, making this a project deserving of the label neo-classical. Influences from classical music, religious music, mediterranean folk, minimal music, and many other styles are blended into a quite original new musical style. (EVENING OF LIGHT)
The whole album has a similar dark depressing atmosphere. The themes of the songs fit the sound of the songs. The themes also seem to progress through a story, from pain to death to ghosts... (GOTHTRONIC)
A écouter impérativement. (METAL WAVES)
Ereipia is the UK/Finnish project of Andy and Kostas, two musicians who have built their collective experience over many years, creating music and touring with various outfits ranging from ethnic music to operatic styles and extreme metal. Having already exchanged musical ideas in the extreme metal band Pantheist (signed to Firebox records), a band that incorporates elements of classical and sacred music, they developed the desire to transpose these elements into a more reflective, acoustic setting.
Ereipia is an emotional journey through realms of melancholy. However, this journey is not devoid of hope and faith. Crucial to the creation of these musical landscapes are Andy’s powerful, haunting voice and Kostas’ idiosyncratic piano playing. Combined with the sparse emotive arrangements, the timeless and nonconformist music takes the listener to a trip out of time and the earthly existence. Deeply personal and emotional, Ereipia is a cathartic experience to its creators and those listeners who are prepared to delve into their own internal world.
Kostas and Andy are also involved in the acclaimed new outfit Crippled Black Phoenix, signed to Geoff Barrow’s (Portishead) Invada Records. Ereipia’s self-titled debut album has been recorded at Geoff Barrow’s State Of Art studio in Bristol and engineered by Stu Matthews. Rik Dowling at Sonic Mastering completed the mastering.
