About Me

download all my mixes for free.
i make beats for this guy, plus some mixes. i once remixed the entirety of jay-z's black album, minus "moment of clarity" cuz that song is kind of garbage. brenner's breaks is OUT. see below.
if you want beats, let me know. we can work out a deal.
The Argyle Album plays more like a music-lover's dream mix and the samples are more attentively deliberated over. "Allure," which sheds Radiohead's Kid A in a playful light, represents the utility in music today---really, Thom Yorke and Shawn Carter aren't as far apart as they seem. The album's closer, "My First Song," is an inspired piece of bubbling blues energy with a whiplash rhythm section, steeping Jay-Z in Delta watering-hole flavor which is oddly provided by The Zombies' "I Want You Back Again." -Tom Mantzouranis, Glorious Noise

Dan Brenner has had a one night stand with the mash-up.Or, on second thought, maybe just a quickie. In under sixty minutes, Brenner has created a world where beloved cereal icons traffic cold hard white, paid homage to legendary producer J. Dilla, showcased raw talent, and put pioneers Nas and A Tribe Called Quest on the same track...and masquerades it all as a day's work for another white twenty something who loves hip hop.Ever since reading about Dan "100dBs" Brenner a few days ago on Colonel K Speaks, I have instantly crowned "Brenner's Breaks Volume 1" genius, thus pushing it to the forefront of my "Things I Can't Stop Talking About And/Or Pushing On All My Fly Girlfriends" list.At fifty six and a half minutes, Brenner's proved his worth. He's no minute man... and this quickie is one I wouldn't mind revisiting the next morning.Believe the hype and download it. -Maggie Coughlin, Whaddup Ma
