Caveat emptor

Honor, dream, endure.

About Me

Private. Empathy balanced by learned mistrust. I value honesty and the belief that there is no universal truth. Withdrawn and apathetic until drawn out by the Muse, the right person, the right time or place. Attempting to view the world with shattered lenses. Why settle on one view?

My Interests

Media, architecture, art, all the finer things in life humanity creates as a whole despite our otherwise erratic behavior. The ebb and flow of popular culture. Economics. The global effect of the intagible, limitless, and final frontier inherent to the Information Age. Decadance. Zombie slaying. Refusing to pick up my cat. Hating people who use checks in fast checkouts. Keeping the things I care about to a minimal and cherished few.

I'd like to meet:

You know. People. Interesting people. Strange people. Entertaining people. Beautiful people. Normal people. Crazy people. Lost people. One person. Two. Nobody.

Music:

Ecclectic. Music is a drug, anything that strikes... Industrial, blues, reggae, punk, classic rock, hip hop, hard rock, rap, electronica... Amon Tobin, AFI, Audioslave, Beck, Bjork, Blackalicious, Cake, Cardigans (STFU), Coil (UK group, not the CA techno), Deftones, Dilated Peoples, DJ Shadow, Dropkick Murphys, Fear Factory, Fishbone, Garbage, Gnarls Barkley, Gorillaz, Incubus, Isis, Kaiser Chiefs, Kidney Thieves, King Crimson, KMFDM, Korn, Machines of Loving Grace, Marilyn Manson, Mars Volta, Massive Attack, Mazzy Star, Mouse on Mars, Mudvayne, Muse, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Nine Inch Nails, Peeping Tom, Poe, Raconteurs, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, RJD2, Scratch Perverts, Sister Machine Gun, Smashing Pumpkings, Snake River Conspiracy, Snog, Soulfly, Soulwax, Soundgarden, Swollen Members, System of a Down, Thelonious Monk, Thievery Corporation, Tool, Tori Amos, VAST, White Stripes, White Zombie/Rob Zombie, X-Ecutioners, Z-Trip... A list seems too constricting, words too confining. This is the last place to construct a pigeon hole.

Movies:

12 Monkeys, Shaun of the Dead, Sin City, Jin-Roh, Collateral despite the fact that Cruise is one collosal nutter, AI minus the tackiness following the underwater scene, Big Lebowski, Dog Soldiers... Certain foreign flicks that have been irresistably compelling yet still haven't made complete sense. Hopefully by design. Hmm. Wouldn't want ones fortress of intellect assaulted by filthy Frenchman now would we?

Books:

Schismatrix, Idoru, Neuromancer, Imajica, Heavy Weather, Demian, Dhalgren, American Gods, Ender's Game... I've been seriously slack lately.

Heroes:

Anyone with the courage and foolishness to pour themselves into whatever transcendence they may hope to find.

A pre-edit excerpt.  It seems that MySpace likes replacing punctuation with... other punctuation. Think I fixed most of it. The subtext... well, moving it correctly here would suck, so I didn't b...
