Hi my name is Joshua "Jay" Guthrie A.K.A Icuras I'm a new mutant at the acdemy I used to be a Hellion.I guess I should tell you about myself well i have angelic wings on my back they come in handy and they match my hair color which is red by the way and I have Healing abillities. My wounds heal almost instantly all but one that left a scar right over my heart. I play guitar and have a great voice i can harmanize with almost anything. I also can control pheromones. I have a tattoo of a skull with a Indian headdress on my right arm. I was forced to join the Xavier Institute by my mother. I was intially placed in the Hellions squad when the school was divided up, but it was clear I didn't fit in with them. Although I worked with the squad for school missions, thier extra-curricular activities held no interest to me, and when the opportunity arose to switch places with Wither, and join the New Mutants I couldnt pass that up.
I am the younger of my brothers Cannolball and Husk they are members of the X-Men. I'm a member of the rather large Guthrie clan, hated by most townsfolk as we nearly all turn out to be mutants.
As a young boy I discovered a talent for music. Combined with my Jealousy for my brother and sister's 'fame' I became a higly talented musician, though I was still hated at school by most of the kids. When my sister Paige and my brother Sam left the family to become X-Men, I took over as man of the house, I took the role very seriously most of the time. I also had to work down in the mines, like Sam and our farther before him, to keep the family going. I grew up as a rather lonely young man, with more responsiblity i knew how to handle at that age.
When I revealed myself as a mutant, sprouting hue red wings from my back, and I tragically discovered the power to heal myself almost instantly as well. I discorvered this during a fight with the Cabot family, whom Hated my family for being what they call 'muties'. when I was in love with their daughter Julia, and she loved me, her father would not allow it and attacked me with highly advanced robotics suit they had discovered nearby.
Thinking I was dead, Julia dragged me and her into a nearby lake, drowning as we hit the bottom. I was then at that moment that my healing powers kicked in, saving my life. I swam back to shore with julia but it was to late for her. In my grief I could not even join her, my attempts at suicide failing each time thanks to my healing powers.
I am now dealing with my grief, and at my mother's behest I join the Academy, where I was unwillingly going through the pessures of high school with other mutants like myself. I was first placed in the Hellions squad, under the tutelage of Emma Frost, and gave myself the codename 'icarus,' after the Greek Myth of a young man who, in his arrogance, flew to close to the sun and lost his wings, plummeting to his death on the earth below. I have sinced switched and become a member of the New Mutants squad, as there ideals are more like my own
well since I have been here in this world I have come to know many people and creatures a few kinder then others I've made many friends had many loves come and go I even have new powers from a spell gone wrong by trying to show how much I loved the person. I was turned into a female for awhile after the spell was reversed I had the ability to change my form from male to female. I have all new powers in my female form.
I had a very loyal girlfriend and son once. my son was made from my and my (ex)girlfriends DNA by a cyborg called Danger. his name was Blaze Kinney Guthrie, he had my wings and a few of my powers and a few of his mothers (X-23) as well. he came back from the future to change it, he never told me much about his fate but he must have changed it enough because he has since returned to his future his infant self is still with me his mother has abandonded us but he has gained enough love from me and his godfather Kid Poison to compansate for the loss of his mother.
