AK RAIL ! This modern rock cover/original band performs energy driven songs in many styles of music. This diverse band has an extensive range of music from old 60's to current, from dance to metal. These 5 members deliver a varied list of dynamic cover & original songs that keeps everyone moving and thirsty for more.
AK RAIL started in November 2004, all of the members of the band had played for many years with a variety of cover & original bands. Most of the band members had burned out on the heavy time burden that a band requires and took some time off from anything serious. but it seems like the need to play always comes back and it did so in a big way.
Jon Hillmand and Jeff Bowers started out in the garage just jamming. they instantly liked what they heard and after a couple of jam sessions they knew it was time to get serious again. So they needed a singer and as luck would have it, and through mutual friends, in came Mike Herring ( Synergy , Bone Daddy) and it clicked right from the start. After a couple of months the need for another guitar player was growing as Mike wanted to concentrate his efforts on singing. the original bassist John Rheume( No Escaping Fate ) contaced Rob Aguilar ( Black Tooth Grin, Killerbrew, No Escaping Fate) and after one practice new this is were he wanted to continue his musical efforts. The band has been back and forth with bass players and just recently hooked up with Rusty Dumont( Tangent ) who brings a new resurgance to the band. The recent loss of drummer Jeff Bowers led us to find a drummer to fill the spot and as luck will have it Frank Adkins ( Resident )was anxious and available. With his tight drumming stylel and willingness to learn a large list of music is now the new drummer for AK RAIL. Now we are ready to take on the world and rock the walls down.
AK RAIL, or RAIL, we go by both names, are continually building a larger list of covers while also focusing on their original music. we connect with our audience's and have the versatality to give the crowd what they want, fun and exciting live music for any occasion.
