SYDEFX draws from many musical genres and creates its own distinct version of Rock+Funk+Hip-Hop. Strong songwriting with amazing hooks showcases each band member’s diversity and musicianship. A live SYDEFX show is polished, strong, exciting inviting the audience to get up and dance.

SYDEFX are:

PRESSLEY - Vocalist/Songwriter
Born in South Carolina and raised in Georgia, Pressley was destined from a young age to entertain. He plays bass, guitar and piano and is well versed in recording, mixing and producing music. At a young age, Pressley was on track to become a choreographer, but music stole his heart. After many years of determination and practice, he has emerged as the lead singer and co founder of SYDEFX.

ZION - Rhythm Guitarist/Vocalist/Songwriter
Originally from Wisconsin, Z grew up on roots music. Ever evolving musical tastes introduced Zion to pop, rap and hip hop. After playing with diverse musical groups throughout the nation, Zion landed in Atlanta and is one of the founding members of SYDEFX. A true musician, Z plays a variety of instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, percussion, keys, harmonica and hand sonic.

KRAZY MIKE - MC/Songwriter
Born in Queens, NY and raised in Atlanta, Krazy Mike plays a little guitar, a little bass and is an incredibly talented MC but at heart he is all songwriter. Mike exudes the energy of a Tasmanian Devil on stage and keeps the crowd pumped. Fans always want to know why he is “Krazy Mike” and unless you travel to Mars, the story behind the name is incomprehensible to mere humans.

JOHNNY ? - Guitarist
Born and raised in the “Little Apple” (Manhattan, KS), Johnny learned to play the guitar at 13. By the age of 16 Johnny was not only playing the local bar circuit, he was also a guitar instructor. Before making his way to Atlanta, Johnny has played Minneapolis, Cleveland, Richmond, New York and Dallas.

PUSH - Drummer
Growing up in Maryland, Push played ice hockey. Eventually landing in Atlanta, Push had already established his music styling in heavy-funk resulting from influences in heavy rock, jazz, funk, soul and the hard funk of D.C. rooted Go-Go. Although Dave is the man pushing the beat, he also plays the guitar.

DRE - Bassist/Vocalist
Hailing from Yonkers, Dre grew up sneaking and playing his dads guitar when he was 8 before being turned on to bass guitar by a neighborhood friend when he was just 16 years old. Since then he’s played in numerous bands experiencing every genre of music along the way including classical and country. One of his greatest highlights of playing professionally was being a member and playing bass in the United States Air Force “Tops in Blue Winter Tour” and a short stint with Angie Stone. A jazz man at heart but can and will funk with the best of them, he now holds that funky bottom and the rhythmic pocket for his favorite band of brothers known as “SYDEFX”.

SYDEFX has played the Atlanta music scene gaining new fans with each performance, and the band continues to evolve with each performance and new recording. SYDEFX was chosen by the National Kidney Foundation of Georgia, as a partner for musical benefit concerts. The SYDEFX original, Emily’s Song, is now available for download on the National Kidney Foundation of Georgia’s website and iTunes.
