I'm owner of Lucky Draw Tattoo, in Glendale AZ. I've been tattooing since 1994 ish, give or take a year I cant remember.......it was in Oct of one of those years.Before that I was an airbrush artist, and had been at that since early in highschool, T-shirts in the mall sort of thing and illustration for fun at home. Then art school, CIA (Colorado Institute of Art) not a great school if you want to learn more about airbrush, the teachers hated the medium and I ended up helping everyone in the class. But soon after school I fell back into the t-shirts and custom car painting but no one wanted to pay me enough for car grafix, some did, so there are some things still out there mostly on friends.But i burned out on the medium, maybe the teachers at school were right after a while it just didnt look that cool, unless it was done just right.Well at the Swap mart where I airbrushed there were tattoo booths, and I became friends with the artists, and they thought i'd be good at it, so I started an apprenticship at Artistic skin Design 1 , at 7ave and Camelback. I was apprenticed by Jim Watson, witch means he throws you in and the artists working there taught you if they liked you, i was lucky, not only were they all cool people,but one became my one and only. Karyn and I met there, after several bumpy months Karyn and I were inseperable.....oh and I learned how to tattoo as well. The crew as I recall ( that actually taught me) was Andre & Marge Davis , Karyn, Greg Desposito, Bonnie, Moth(Johnny) and Robin Garcia, all of them gave me bits and pieces, but the first four on my list gave me the most help.I had been in the art biz for a while so I took to it sort of quick. And almost never pick up an airbrush again. I'll do w/c or oil, or wood working, among other things.Me and the owner of artistic got together and opened up Lucky Draw in april of 2000. I recently bought out his interest and am now a sole properitor
